On Surveys and Blogging

August 14th, 2006

I suppose that the topic of collective intelligence is not a very popular one to the readers of this site. I had over 2000 visitors come to the site since last week when I posted the survey. Of that 2000 only two of them completed the survey. That type of response is no way to conduct experiments so I guess I will discontinue my attempts.

From time to time it becomes quite tedious to attempt to write intellectual things on a day to day basis. It takes a couple of hours to compose my thoughts, type them, proof read them, and post them. I thoroughly enjoy writing but sometimes the stress of knowing I "have" to write is a little cumbersome given all the other things I have going on in my life.

When I first started the blog my goal was to write something at least once per business day. After having done so for nearly 3 months (with the occasional skipped day), I realize that this is just too time consuming a task to continue on a daily basis. I find myself forcing topics and not really writing as succinctly as I want.

For those reasons I am going to slow the pace down a little and only write something when I have something meaningful to say and believe that it adds some sort of value to potential readers. That may be once or twice a week or more or less often depending upon my time constraints.

Thanks,
Jeff
